Look what we found!
9/05/08 – Alas, the parsley has been eaten to the stalks and our little caterpillars have moved on. They were on the parsley plants this morning; they were gone this afternoon. We were hoping to find them on another plant in our garden, maybe on one that has actually been planted, but they haven’t turned up. We’ll keep looking!
We are still watching a dozen or so mail-ordered painted lady caterpillars as part of our homeschool science curriculum. So, while we may not be able to see the Black Swallowtail caterpillars form their chrysalids, we will hopefully still see painted lady caterpillars form their chrysalids and emerge as beautiful butterflies, to be released into our butterfly garden.
