Out of the Mouths of Babes: In All Honesty

After my little exchange with Connor this morning, he fell back to sleep for two hours.  When he  finally awoke, we ate breakfast, and then headed downstairs to start our schoolwork.  Connor whined, complained, and cried his way through math, usually a favorite subject.
“Are you feeling alright?,” I asked with concern.
“No,” he said in a quiet voice.

“You’re not?”
“No,” he whined, “I’m feeling lazy.”
Well, at least he’s honest.  We struggled through math, spelling, and an on-line reading program we’re in the process of reviewing (one Connor usually asks to do multiple times in a day), and then declared school closed for the remainder of the day.  Sometimes an early release for snow, ice, or feelings of laziness is in order!
