Out of the Mouths of Babes: Are You Thinking What I’m Thinking?

We woke this morning to a light dusting of snow on the ground and rain pattering on the roof.  The radio reported a mixture of snow, ice, and rain for the remainder of the day and a host of school closings.

Upon hearing this, Connor, our 7-year-old, looks at me and sleepily asks, “Are you thinking what I’m thinking?”

“I don’t know,” I reply, “What are you thinking?”

“That we did school yesterday, so we have a day off today.”

“Um, no, Connor, that is definitely not what I am thinking, but how about a little extra time to sleep this morning.”

“Ok,” he agrees, “I’ll get up at 7:30.”  The clock read 7:23am.  He was sound asleep again before 7:30am, and is still asleep at 9:30am.

Looks like our homeschool will be operating on at least a two-hour delay this dreary winter’s day.
