VBS is a highlight of our summer every year, but now it’s October, summer is over, the leaves are changing color… and yet, through the monitor in the boys’ bedroom, “Bible School music” is playing as a seven-year-old, who should be in bed, joyfully sings along! Connor (the seven-year-old) is already talking about Vacation Bible School next year, wondering what the theme will be, what crafts he will make, and what new songs he will learn, “because I LOVE the music best, Mommy!”
For the past four years, our church has used
Group’s Vacation Bible School programs, and each year has been better than the last. The music, crafts, stories, and lessons stay with the kids long after the week of fun has ended! And so, when I was given the opportunity to review a new offering from Group,
Fun-For-The-Whole-Family Hour, I jumped at the opportunity, and I was not disappointed!
True to Group’s mission to provide opportunities for fun and learning about our Lord and the wonders of His world, the Fun-For-The-Whole-Family Hour combines great music, quality video, fun role plays, exciting games, and memorable crafts into sixty minutes of Bible School fun, but unlike the summer programs Group is know for, this program is for the whole family, young and old alike.
The Fun-For-The-Whole-Family Hour features video from the new Narnia movie:
The Voyage of the Dawn Treader and contemporary Christian music that children and adults of all ages will find uplifting and encouraging: Amazing Grace, God of Wonders, You Never Let Go, and Untitled Hymn to name just a few of our favorites!
After looking over the video footage, listening to the music, and reading through the Leader’s Guide, my family is anxious to see our church host a Fun-For-The-Family Hour! And with the reasonable cost and well-organized, easy-to-follow leader’s guide, we’re hopeful that we can convince our Children’s Ministry Director to add a Fun-For-The-Whole-Family Hour to the church event schedule in the new year.
Group’s Fun-For-The-Whole-Family Leaders Kit contains everything your church needs to lead its own Family Hour: publicity materials; video footage; music CD; supply list; a step-by-step guide of what to say, what to show, and what to do during your Family Hour; and one copy of the Family Expedition Kit. The Leaders Kit retails for $19.99. Each family participating in the Family Hour will also need a Family Expedition Kit, sold for $5.99 each. Overall, this makes for a very affordable church program!
I received Group’s Fun-For-The-Whole-Family Hour Leader’s Kit from B&B Media Group in exchange for my honest review. The thoughts printed in this review are entirely my own.
