Out of the Mouths of Babes: Snug as a…

Ryan has been waking up early, too early, and staying up late, too late,… and today it caught up with him.  He was cranky and tired all morning and into the afternoon.  When I had had enough, I suggested he actually nap during quiet time today.  He didn’t argue – a clear sign that he was absolutely exhausted.  He finished his lunch and went straight up to his room.
I found him on his bed huddled under his blankets.  As I walked into his room, a tiny voice said, “Mom, I’m as snug… as a camel in the arctic.”
WHAT?!
Not at all what I was expecting, but I had to laugh as I threw a couple of extra blankets on top of him.  Not long thereafter, he was sound asleep, looking nothing like a camel in the arctic, but rather seeming to finally be as snug as a bug  in a rug under his mound of afghans and throws.
