Works for Me Wednesday: Preventing Swimmer’s Ear

Summer is here!  The pool is open!
Don’t let Swimmer’s Ear keep you out of the water!

Several years ago, the world’s best pediatrician (ours) shared a simple method for preventing Swimmer’s Ear.  It’s quick, easy, inexpensive, and… it works!
Prepare a mixture of 1/2 rubbing alcohol and 1/2 white vinegar in a small travel bottle.  Pack the bottle and a few cotton balls in your beach bag.
When your child exits the pool, thoroughly dry his/her outer ear with a soft towel, and then using a cotton ball, put 5 or 6 drops of the liquid in each ear canal.  Allow it to stay in the ear for a few minutes with the cotton ball.
Fun in the pool… without Swimmer’s Ear…
it works for me!
