Encouraging Reading… With Pizza!

Some parents call it bribery, some call it unnecessary, in our family, we call it FUN!  Pizza Hut’s Book-It Program rewards kids in grades K through six who meet teacher-, or in the case of homeschoolers, parent-set reading goals with one FREE personal-pan pizza each month between October and March.  Pizza in exchange for reading, how can you go wrong?  If you’re looking for a way to encourage your student to meet reading goals, be it mastering the alphabet, decoding three-letter words, or reading chapter books, be sure to sign up for the 2010-2011 Book-It program NOW!  Sign-ups for the next school year started today and run through June 30, but this program will fill up, so don’t delay!  Homeschoolers can sign up on-line here.  Parents of public, parochial, and private school children should encourage your child’s school to sign up for next year if they haven’t participated in the past.   More information is available here.  There is no charge to parents or teachers for this program!
