What We Love: A Good Laugh
Tonight at dinner, Patrick and I were playing 20 Questions with the boys. It was my turn to answer questions posited by Patrick and the boys as they tried to guess what was on my mind: Dick Dastardly (the villain from the Wacky Races cartoons; a favorite of a young Patrick and now of the boys). The boys (Patrick included) were struggling to guess and were running out of questions to ask, so I decided to feed Connor a couple of questions in hopes of helping to lead them to the correct guess.
The first whispered question, “Is he a cartoon character?” Connor repeated, and I said, “Yes.” Then I fed Connor the question, “Is he always causing problems?” Connor asked; I said, “Yes;” and then without skipping a beat, he threw out an excited guess… “Daddy?”
No, I didn’t feed him that answer; he came up with that all on his own! Out of the mouths of babes… we all laughed at that one, even Daddy.
