No Monkeys Here!
Today Connor was bouncing and climbing up and down the stairs, over the back of the couch, on the kitchen chairs,… he was in constant motion! I chided him saying, “Connor, you are such a monkey!,” to which he replied straight-faced, “I mot (not) a monkey, I a sheep!”
Connor’s class has been learning about the Chinese New Year. Connor, who was born in the Fall of 2003, was born in the year of the sheep. The remaining 12 children in his class were all born after the new year and so were born in the year of the monkey. Connor is quite proud of his one-of-a-kind status, so don’t even think of calling him a monkey! He is, and always will be, a sheep – a bouncing, climbing sheep!
