A Day at the Races!
And the winner is…Today we went to the races, the Cub Scout Pinewood Derby Races that is. Ryan and Patrick, with a bit of help from Grandpop McQuillan, spent several weeks constructing the perfect pinewood car! And they ended up with a winner. Ryan won first place for the Tiger Cubs and third place overall in his pack. He will move on to the district races in a few weeks. Connor, who also created a pinewood car, raced well in the sibling heats. Although no official results were kept for the sibs, Connor’s car repeatedly came in first or second in his races – a fact that did not go unnoticed by Connor who at the end of each race would punch his arm into the air in celebration, and then turn to give thumbs up to me! By the time he’s an official racer – two more years yet – he’ll have perfected his car, I’m sure.
