Prayers for Kenya

Our family has a heart for Kenya and her people. My Mom has traveled to Kenya on mission trips three times; my Dad went for the first time this past summer, and was quite taken with the people, their hospitality, and their strong Christian faith. The kids and I sponsor a little boy in Kenya through World Vision. His name is Denis; he is six-years-old, like Ryan. In light of the recent outbreak of violence in the country, we are asking that you join us in praying for the people of Kenya. Following is an excerpt from an e-mail we received this week:

The Council of the Kenya Mission Network has asked that we be united in prayer, daily, at 10 AM EST, until peace is restored. God is faithful. He will be present with those whom we hold near and dear to our hearts. We will enfold our Kenyan sisters and brothers in a blanket of prayer.”

We are so fortunate to live in a country where elections are held without fear of erupting violence; where we are free to disagree with the government without fear of repercussions; and where we can worship, pray, and request prayers openly. Thank you for taking a moment to pray for those who are not as fortunate.
